Service has always been super slow at this place. Owner is not very friendly. They added 15% tip on our 10 guest party. Nothing new to say about this place. Don't know how it can win the 2009 best greek in burnaby award.

The worst service I've had....I went here last week for a Christmas party. The service was absolutely TERRIBLE. We had a large party of 16 people so you would think the service would be decent, to say the least, especially if they are forcing a 15% gratuity for a large party. Our server was not friendly at all and our food came out cold. One member in my party asked for salt and pepper and our server's response was

We gave this (previously our favourite) restaurant another try after several disappointing visits last year. Things haven't improved, they've deteriorated more.
Our saganaki and spanokopita were barely warm, the cheese not melted. We informed the waitress and she took it away, reheated it and returned it at the same time as our meal. It looked horrible.
The garlic prawns were more oil than garlic the beans looked good but were cold the greek salad was lacking in feta cheese, the roast lamb was hot but not the tasty morsel it used to be known for.
It took 15 minutes to get our bill, and the restaurant wasn't busy.
They made no apologies nor gave us any credit/deductions for the appys.
The service has been inconsistent over the years, with some good waitresses but the owner and his brother are not friendly.
It's sad to say, the experience sucked. Vassilus has lost it's ranking.
We won't be back.

Food was good, but very rude crazy people who threatened us with the police when we questioned 50 dollars for 4 double highballs.

Very rude people, I can not see how they have lasted there so long.My daughter and I were surrounded by yelling crazy people when we questioned why we were being charged 50 dollars for 4 double highballs. We were told to pay our bill and leave and never come back or they would call the police on us.

This place is awful. The manager is an ass and the service sucks!!! We ordered 4 double caesars and were charged $50!!!! Robbery, yes. They claimed because it wasn't priced on the menu they can charge whatever they want!! What a bunch of jerks! Will never go here ever again!!

Terrible. Owner would not even accomodate us to have one more seat on our table.

Owner is ornery and VERY unfriendly, my husband refuses to go there because of him.

Very good restaurant with nice decoration and the food is very very good. My friends and me always have a good diner there. We recommended for sure

As far as Greek food is concerned, look elswhere. Everything must have been prepared in advance as the food arrived too quickly ! Veggies tasted like frozen, awfull rice, the lamb was o.k. though. Service mediocre.

My friend and I visited Vassilis Greek Taverna on Wednesday June 20th at around 7pm. We got greeted by an older gentleman and sat on the patio. We did request a high chair for my girlfriend 1 year old baby, but at that time was not available. We waited about 5-10min for a waitress to come and greet us. Once she arrived she did apologise for being late but she did say that there are under staff and are behind in orders. She took our orders which were My friend ordered Calamari Dinner with no rice and salad on the side. I ordered the same dinner but with rice. We also ordered a litter of white wine. The waitress informed us that this is too much of us to want and is not sure the kitchen will make that request maybe if we pay extra and why do we want the salad on the side?!, but she said she will try. After waiting 10 minutes our waitress arrived with our wine and told us that the kitchen is mad with our request and will not prepare it the way we the customer want it. We said that would be fine and we asked how long well wait for the food the answer was 15min. Its now 750pm were still waiting for our food We saw a lady leaving the restaurant with a baby and told us that the high chair is now available. My friend asked the older gentleman for a high chair as there is one available. He told her and what you want me to do? My friend got upset frustrated with this guy and came over to the table and said to me WE ARE NOT EATING HERE!!! Once we started packing up the older guy came by with the high chair and told us Ill do you a favour by letting you use this high chair as he doesnt allow high chair on the patio At his point were ticked off with the service we had experience. We ask for the manager and the older guy said to us Im the owner and if you dont like it just pay for the wine and go

ugly Boss customer service attitute, not recommended to this restaurant only if you want to get mad with someone, an old guy

I absolutely love this restaurant. The ambiance and decor was beautiful. The staff was professional and attentive and the food was fresh and very well prepared. We are booking it for a large party for a night in August.
